Georgian Schoolhouse Flat Renovation
"We've used builders before and had mixed experiences — some fine, some frustrating. Harris and the Namo team were genuinely in a different league. The carpentry work in particular is the best we've seen in any home we've lived in: everything fits perfectly, the finishes are really clean up close, and nothing feels like it was rushed or compromised. The biggest job was the floor-to-ceiling solid wood beam wall, which replaced a tired old balcony partition across the full double height of our flat. It sounds straightforward but it had to be spot-on — perfectly level and evenly spaced across a very tall wall in an old building where nothing is truly square. Harris nailed it. It looks like it was always there, and it's the first thing every visitor mentions.
He also built a beautiful integrated desk and shelving unit into the base of the beam wall — what had previously been wasted space under the mezzanine stairs is now our favourite spot in the flat to work from. It feels like it was designed as part of the structure, not added on, which takes real skill to pull off.
Beyond the beam wall, Harris built a bookshelf and drinks storage unit in the entrance with hidden lighting, fitted storage under the stairs (a completely unused void before), wardrobes in the master bedroom, and extra storage cupboards upstairs — all to the same high standard. Everything looks considered and clean, not like it was thrown together to a budget. He was also really good to deal with throughout. Honest about timelines, quick to respond when anything came up, and he worked well with our interior designer Johanna — which made the whole project feel genuinely joined-up rather than the usual back-and-forth between trades. On the technical side, he used a camlock system to secure the beams to the wall and hid the fixings underneath cork dowels for a completely clean finish — the kind of detail that shows real craft knowledge and separates a truly skilled carpenter from someone just following instructions. We'd recommend Harris unreservedly for any project, large or small."

Victorian Fireplace Restoration with Alcove Storage
"We got Namo in to help us design and implement some alcove shelving and cupboards in our Victorian terraced house. The original fireplace had been removed previously to accomodate an oil heater and we were keen to reestablish some of the old features. Harris and the team helped design a solution, which included integrated hidden LED lighting into the shelves and a rattan finish on the cupboard doors to allow for the full strenth of the Wi-Fi router and for our speakers to play uninterrupted. They were also able to source a reclaimed fireplace and reinstate it to full working order including creating a tiled hearth. We couldn't be happier."
